Pool, pocket billiards or pool billiards is a cue sport and game played on a pool table which has six pockets along the rails, into which balls fall as the main aim of play. The following is a list of top 9 pool players in the world.

Chang Jung Lin

Currently ranked as the number 1 male pool player by the World Pool-Billiard Association is Taiwanese pool player, Chang Jung Lin. He first became the 8-ball pool world champion in 2012 and later won a silver at the 2013 world games.

 

Carlo Biado

Ranked on the 2nd place by the World Pool-Billiard Association is Carlo Biado. The Philippine pool player won a gold medal at the 2017 world games and is currently the world champion in the discipline 9-Ball.

 

Ko Pin-Yi

Another Taiwanese pool player is ranked 3rd in the world by the World Pool-Billiard Association. He became a world champion in the disciplines 10-ball and 9-ball in the year 2015 making the Taiwan international dominate in many worldwide tournaments.

 

Chen Siming

Ranked as the number 1 female pool player by the World Pool-Billiard Association is the Chinese pool player Chen Siming. Siming won a gold medal at the 2017 world games and has many more achievements to her name.

The only pool player rooting from the Great Britain is Scottish pool player, Jayson Shaw. Shaw is ranked 4th among the male pool players by the World Pool-Billiard Association. He first became a world champion in the year 2010 in the discipline blackball.

AlbinOuschan Junior is an Austrian born pool player who is ranked 5th among the male pool players by the World Pool-Billiard. Ouschan became a world champion in the year 2016 in the discipline 9-ball and also European champion.

A young and talented Taiwanese pool player, Ko Ping-Chung, is ranked 7th among the male pool players by the World Pool-Billiard Association. Ko Ping Chung only has a few junior world titles but his consistent performances at many tournaments since his debut to the international realm have landed him in such a high ranked place.

Cheng Yu-Hsuan is another Taiwanese pool player placed at the 8th position by the World Pool-Billiard Association in the list of world’s best male pool players. He has the 2015 US Open 9 Ball to his name and has been part of many nail biting finals.

 

Liu Shasha

Ranked 2nd among the females by the World Pool-Billiard Association is Chinese pool player, Liu Shasha. Shashabecame a world champion in the 9-ball discipline in the year 2009 and later in years 2014 and 2015. Liu Shasha, at the age of 16, became the world champion in 2009 by beating Karen Corr in the 9-ball world championship. Since then, it has been winning ways for the exceptionally gifted pool player.
