CV Raman

ChandrasekharaVenkata Raman was born is 1888 in Tiruchirapalli. He has won the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1930 for scattering of light. He also worked on acoustics of musical instruments.

 

Homi J. Bhabha

He was born in 1909 in Bombay and played an important role in quantum theory. He was the first chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission of India. He started his scientific career in nuclear physics from Great Britain.

 

Visvesvaraya

He was born in 1860 and was a notable Indian engineer, scholar and statesman. He was the one who invented automatic sluice gates and block irrigation system.

 

VenkatramanRadhakrishnan

He was born in 1929 in Tondaripet, a suburb of Chennai. He is acclaimed as an Astrophysicist. He is also known for his designs and fabrication of ultralight aircraft and sailboats.

 

S. Chandrashekar
