There’s a lot stored in our planet mother Earth. It’s a mighty big place where everything from negative to positive and good to bad can be traced. Below are some of the strangest places on Earth.

The Southern Pole of Inaccessibility

This is located in Antarctica and is the point that is farthest from the sea in all the directions. It is a remote spot and the coldest, and is a cabin that is buried in ice. Furthermore, the location of this place is never fixed.

 

Derweze

Derweze is also known as the door to hell located in Turkmenistan. While drilling for gas, a team of geologists accidently collapsed an underground gas chamber which led to the escape of poisonous gas that killed the locals with the team being set on fire.

 

Bouvet Island

The islands are technically a part of Norway in the Antarctica region spreading over a 1750 km area. It is a remote area which is inhabited by lichens, penguins, and seals.

 

Bir Tawil

It is a barren trapezoid land between Egypt and Sudan. It is not owned by any of the countries. Comprising of sand and rocks, it is the only unclaimed piece of Earth.

 

The Zilov Gap

The Gap is a 640 km stretch of wilderness in Central Siberia. It was notorious for muddy terrain during rasputitsa, with numerous river crossings. Now, there is a new road made from Khabarovsk to Chita which has now covered the gap in such a way that travelling is easy.

 

Mount Thor

It is located in Baffin Islands in Canada. It is a home to the greatest purely vertical drop in the world. It is over one and a half times taller than the tallest buildingBurjKhalifa, Dubai.

 

Mir Mine

Mir Mine is a diamond mine in Eastern Siberia. It is the biggest man made hole in the world. About 525 metres deep and 1200metres wide, it is so huge that it can suck in helicopters flying over it due to the downward air flow.
