Jennifer Lawrence is an American actress who was born on August 15, 1990. Lawrence was the highest-paid actress in 2014 as well as in 2015. She entered the ‘most influential people’ list by TIMES in 2013 and Forbes’ Celebrity 100 in the years 2014 and 2016. Some lesser known facts about her are as follows.
- Her full name is Jennifer Shrader Lawrence and was a tomboy while she grew up. Hence, she was not allowed to play with other girls in preschool as she was considered “too rough.”
- She was born and brought up by Gary Lawrence, owner of Lawrence & Associates Construction, and Karen Lawrence, children’s camp manager. She graduated from high school with a low grade of 3.9 GPA.
- She was an athlete while growing up, including cheerleading, hockey and softball and also wanted to become a doctor when she grew up, even though later she did modeling and community theatre.
- Lawrence appeared on Winter’s Bone in 2010 and hence, earned herself nominations for not only the Academy Awards but also for a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
- Lawrence does not have any formal acting training and did not even enroll herself in drama program in school.
- She gave auditions for the role of Bella Swan in Twilight and Jules in Super bad. The roles went to different actresses, Kristen Stewart and Emma Stone and she didn’t get the part.
