In Which Countries are Bollywood Movies Popular?
It is not just the Indians that happen to watch Bollywood movies every now and then. In fact, Bollywood movies are famous all around the world. The majority of the population that loves to watch Indian cinema, surprisingly, does not know much about the Hindi language and the Indian culture. The top five countries where Bollywood movies are watched the most are as follows.

After India, the only country where Bollywood movies are famous is Pakistan. There is a huge craze for the Indian films, songs and celebrities. Even though the Government of Pakistan has banned Hindi movies due to the differences in culture and its domination on the local film industry, the majority of population continues to watch Bollywood movies.
Afghanistan
Even after being a country that is almost torn apart by war, one thing that brings a smile to everyone’s face is Bollywood movies. Afghanistan is known to be the country, next to Pakistan, where Bollywood movies are a major source of entertainment. It is known to be the highest grosser of Hindi movies.
China

Bollywood has been one of the sources for peaceful relations between India and China. Even though, there are quite a lot of tensions between the two countries, Bollywood movies have brought majority of the population together. According to some Officials of China, Bollywood movies have become one of the favorite cinemas of the Chinese.

Egypt has been fond of the Bollywood movies since 1980s but as they grew more and more attention, the local film industry began to lose its importance and relevance in the country. Hence, the Bollywood movies were soon banned in Egypt. Later, after the Hindi movie industry gained importance all around the world, the government of Egypt was pressurized by the population to start the same again. After about 25 years, the Bollywood movies are shown in Egypt.
Nigeria
Nigeria is the home of the Muslim population of Africa and is, surprisingly, a huge fan of Bollywood movies even though no Indian immigrant has ever been there. They have been fond of the same since 1960s. The population of Nigeria feels that the Indian culture’s relation with class division; poverty, status of women etc. are similar to their condition. It has been noticed that Nigerian people love Bollywood movies a lot more than the Hollywood ones.
