<h2>Temple of Tooth Relic</h2>
<p>It lies in the city of Kandy. It is a royal palace where the tooth of the Buddha is placed. The relic has played an important role since the ancient times. It is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance. It is considered as the holiest shrine of Buddhist culture.</p>

<h2>Kelaniya Raja MahaVihara Temple</h2>
<p>This temple is located in Vihara which is 7 miles from Colombo. It is a place where Lord Buddha used to preach. In a historic poem, Mahawansna, it is mentioned that the original stupa had a gem studded throne where the Budhha used to sit and preach. The temple is known worldwide due to its 18 feet long stone statue of the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara.</p>

<p>Also known as the Temple of the Thousand Pillars, this is an important Hindu Temple in Sri Lanka. It is considered as one of the most visited and richest temples in Asia. This temple focuses on the Hindu deity Lord Shiva.</p>
<h2>Sri Kailawasanathar Swami Devasthanam Temple</h2>
<p>It is located in the Captain’s garden, Maradana district. Also known as Captain’s Gardens PillayarKovil, it is one of the oldest and largest Hindu temples in Sri Lanka. It is a centre where Thai Pongal is celebrated every year in January.</p>
